If you are a solo business owner, you must be using some content planning tools to create and schedule your content. In this post, I will be sharing some content planning tools that I use personally for my small business.
These are very basic content planning tools. If you are a solo creator or have a team, these tools will work for you.
Basic tools include a calendar, a graphic design tool, and an inspiration channel. So, let’s begin.
Calendar for content planning
Google Calendar
This is a gem! Seriously!
I love Google Calendar for planning my content. You can create events on the day you decide to post your content and accordingly, you can create tasks in the same calendar. It’s amazing.
You don’t need a separate tool to write your to-do list. If you have a small team, you can invite your team members and tag them which makes it very useful.

Notion
I was using Google Calendar before I found Notion and I fell in love with its simplicity and functionalities.
I will need a whole series to write on Notion about how you can utilize it as a content creator. You can write a draft of your blog post, plan your YouTube video, plan your whole year of content, etc. There are a lot more things you can do with Notion.

Graphic designing tools to create posts
There are hundreds of graphic designing tools out there available for free but personally, I like two of them — Canva and Vistacreate.
Canva
Canva provides design templates for Instagram posts, stories, Facebook posts, YouTube thumbnails, blog banners, newsletter designs so many more. If you are a creator and looking for design templates, Canva is the best.

Canva has thousands of design templates for everything. You can also invite your teammates to collaborate. It is very easy to use if you are a beginner and you do not need any editing and designing skills to use Canva.
Vistacreate
Vistacreate is very similar to Canva so I am not going to explain a lot about it here. You can try Vistacreate the same way for everything you can do in Canva. Vistacreate also has some brilliant designs for your projects.
Where to take inspiration for your content
If you are a watercolor artist, find artists you like the most on Instagram and see what and how they are creating their posts. Pinterest is also an amazing place to find inspiration.
I want to write a lot to share with you everything I know about content planning and creating but to keep the article short and sweet, I am ending it here. I will keep writing articles here to help you.
