Until now I was making Instagram reels and YouTube videos for myself only.
One day, a marketing agency approached me to make videos for their clients. I said yes and I started searching more about this. I found out that there’s a thing called UGC.
I made a few videos with the marketing firm last month and made a few bucks.
So, I decided to pitch to skincare brands to work directly with clients(Skincare because I love trying out new products). I started finding brands and sending them emails. Yesterday, I got on a call with one of the brands and closed a paid deal. So, technically, this is my first UGC deal.
This is what I did:
- I made a portfolio using the Canva website builder with the products I have around me.
- I went to my Instagram and whenever I saw any skincare ads, I checked their profile and if I liked their products, I sent them an email.
- Very few brands got back to me and that’s how I landed my very first UGC deal.
You will only need your phone and tripod to begin with and basic editing skills. You can start earning money without investing anything technically.
It will take a lot of your time to find clients in the beginning. If you don’t want to do that, I suggest you contact marketing agencies who are working with brands and are looking for UGC creators.
There are thousands of brands looking for UGC creators. If you like creating content and don’t have a huge following, you can try creating UGC to help brands.
