I have scoliosis and osteoporosis.

I used to lose my energy very soon. At the end of my day, I used to feel tired. I used to get back pain if I sat for only an hour.

I wasn’t getting enough protein, vegetables, or fruits.

I went for the yearly regular checkup 8 months ago and my doctor suggested me to visit a nutritionist.

That’s how I met my wonderful nutritionists and this is one of the best decisions of my life.

I started eating as my nutritionist suggested and I started noticing the difference. My back pain reduced, started feeling energetic all day and my mood improved.

I understood the importance of the right food. I want to share my few learnings that might help you to feel better.

  • Eat plenty of protein. Aim for 0.8 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight each day. Good sources of protein include chicken, fish, beans, tofu, and nuts.
  • Eat plenty of vegetables and fruits. Aim for at least 5 servings of fruits and vegetables per day. Good sources of vegetables include leafy greens, broccoli, and sweet potatoes. Good sources of fruits include berries, citrus fruits, and bananas.
  • Choose healthy fats. Healthy fats are essential for bone health and overall health. Good sources of healthy fats include avocados, olive oil, nuts, and seeds.
  • Limit processed foods and sugary drinks. Processed foods and sugary drinks are often high in unhealthy fats, sugar, and artificial ingredients, which can worsen inflammation and reduce bone health.
  • Get enough calcium and vitamin D. Calcium is essential for bone health, and vitamin D helps the body absorb calcium. Good sources of calcium include dairy products, leafy greens, and fortified foods. Good sources of vitamin D include sunlight, fatty fish, and fortified foods.

If you have any questions or concerns about your diet, be sure to talk to your doctor or a registered dietitian. They can help you create a personalized meal plan that meets your individual needs.
